School Counseling

Hello and welcome!

My name is Mrs. Stephenie, and I’m so excited to be part of the Mont Vernon Village School community. As your school counselor, I’m here to support students, families, and staff in helping our kids grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.

At MVVS, we believe in creating a safe, respectful, and caring environment where every student can thrive. I’ll be visiting each classroom weekly to teach social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons using the Second Step program. These lessons help students build important life skills like problem-solving, managing emotions, and forming positive relationships—skills they can use both in and out of school.

I’ve spent many years working with children and families—as a counselor, clinician, and educator—and I truly love helping kids navigate their feelings, friendships, and challenges. I’ve always been drawn to supporting young people in ways that help them feel seen, heard, and confident. My goal is to be a resource, a listener, and a trusted partner in your child’s journey.

I can’t wait to get to know our Mont Vernon kids and families. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m here to help!

Warmly,
Mrs. Stephenie
